aid for children in Indonesia: drilling in Amed has just begun!

After long months of preparation, geological studies and negotiations with the local and Balinese authorities, we are pleased to announce that drilling work has begun and that very soon water will be available for more than 200 families!

Our initial project « ANAK » For 40 families, the drilling site was grafted into the Karangasem area, bringing water to the remote areas of Bali Province, thereby reaching more than 200 families.

The following solution was chosen:

• A drill (35 m) with a 6000 l polyethylene tank and an A-point pump
• A 48 M3 concrete tank and a B-point pump
• One last 48 M3 tank also made of C-point concrete
• A pipe network 20 cm in diameter for pumped water (approximately 2,500 linear metres)
• An 8 cm diameter pipe network for distributed water (approximately 4,000 linear metres)

The drilling started about two months ago and just ended in November 2024 (long and tedious work because of the numerous stones encountered).

 A warm and great thank you to you for your generous gift, This double ANAK project is fully funded; We are pleased to announce that thanks to you and also thanks to the energy of our Balinese Team, more than 1,800 people will be able to benefit early 2025 running water in their home.

We will of course continue to inform you about the next steps!

As much as to preserve the groundwater, we have a complementary project: planting banyans for reforestation operation and protection of the groundwater. Gonta, our local coordinator Amed, will pilot all the operation in cooperation with the village: purchase of equipment, cutting, potting and maintenance of future trees. This plantation is scheduled for late 2025 during the rainy season to facilitate the recovery of the plants.
